Grisly photos of the Faroe Islands traditional “grindadrap”, which sees migrating pilot whales and dolphins herded towards the shore and slaughtered. 1,691 pilot whales and white-sided dolphins were killed during 24 individual hunts.
We watched an animated movie 'Ferdinand' yesterday - its a very light hearted movie but tries to depict the harm we do to animals in the name of entertainment.
In Spain, the matador plays the leading role, killing the bull to the cheers of the crowd. But in Portugal the matadors make way for the forcardas. ... At the end of a fight in Portugal, the bull is dragged out of the ring and is usually taken to a butcher to be killed.
Last Easter we watched a Rodeo show as a part of the Sydney Easter show and it was so evident that the horses were being traumatized and instigated to buck : the more the torture , the higher the animal will jump and louder the claps and cheers from the crowd. And if that doesn't do the trick , an electric rod shock is given to them just before the gates are opened to get the animals charging into the stadium.
Animals used in rodeo shows are literally tortured in order to give the audiences a good show. For example, the flank, or “bucking,” strap or rope—which is used to make horses and bulls buck—is tightly cinched around their abdomens, which causes the animals to “buck vigorously to try to rid themselves of the torment.”
Animal slaughter is a highly debatable topic - humans seem to be indifferent and insensitive to any other creature on the planet. Had watched a documentary called Fast Food Nation in the past which shows how heards of cattle is pushed into the big steel machines which chop their head from the body and slice and dice the meat through . I was looking for some good restaurant reviews near Central Coast as we are heading there in a few days and found this on the Instagram page of one of the popular restaurants there ( in the first pic , you can see the eye holes of the pig too ! And check out the likes and comments - pathetic !! )
And I find it hard to believe that the people who partake in activities above then attend church or be spiritual or mourn the death of their loved ones etc. ?
The Golden rule in the Bible ( and its universal now ) states : Do unto others and you have them do unto you . How about they ( those who commit such barbaric acts ) getting treated exactly the same way as they treat others ?
Its definitely a dark age we are living in and its worrisome where the world is going to .
