A recent hiking trip in Glacier National Park sparked in me the feeling of oneness with the surroundings . The first day we drove along Going to the Sun Road which had breath taking beauty of snow topped mountains , lush green valleys , clear ponds surrounded by the mighty hills and wildlife roaming around fearlessly . There was so much of natural beauty - as far as the eye could see . Each pullover was worth stopping for and we took pictures in hundreds - but when we downloaded them we felt the pictures didn't do justice to what we saw - jaw dropping , awe inspiring and untouched beauty .The next day we decided to get a close up view of the mountains and chose a famous 5 mile Iceberg lake trail for it . The trail was easy to moderate level winding around 4 - 5 mountains . Few parts of the trail were in thick vegetation , most of it was open for us to soak in the views around . Beautiful wildflowers and colourful butterflies greeted us on our way and every turn gave us a panoramic view . We could see the snowfields on the mountains right in front of us and the valley below . It was an amazing experience to get up so close to nature , feel the fresh air in it and admire the surroundings . I have never hiked in the mountains before and this will be a treasured memory for me .
